A pleasant hike on an unexpectedly-pleasant day. We hiked this in reverse, beginning in Lynn Canyon and finishing in Deep Cove. We parked our car in Deep Cove and took the 212/210 buses to the Lynn Canyon trailhead. The trail enters the forest right across from the cafe. A few muddy spots but what do you expect on the North Shore at this time of year? Skunk cabbage is emerging adding its distinctive aroma to the forest; salmonberry is blossoming, attracting hummingbirds in open areas. The trail was mostly quiet until we reached the Deep Cove lookout which was crawling with people.
Navigation is easy as there are plenty of signs. The exception is under the power lines near Deep Cove lookout where there are no markings of any kind. If coming from Deep Cove, head more or less straight across the road to find a gap in the bushes (turning left up the gravel road is not really a problem as you'll encounter the BP trail signs again pointing you to the left). Coming from Lynn Canyon, cross the road and enter the salmonberry bushes to the right of the rock.
Apres-hike sustenance was once again provided by Honey's.
