There was still lots of snow at Mount Baker, so we opted to do a this lower level hike on a sunny Canada Day / Independence day long weekend. This was a easy hike that followed along the Nooksack River (north fork). We started from the trail at Snowater to SR542 and crossed the bridge and the road to get to the trailhead. The approx .5 km was busier with people and dogs. Less people after this, probably since the trail was less groomed (some overgrown bushes) and there were some small up and down sections. The end of the trail came to horseshoe bend in which there was a rocky beach area.

Mostly in the trees. Not as nearly as spectacular as any of the other Mount Baker trails, but it makes a nice outing.
