5 of us headed out on what was expected to be a rainy day (it only rained for maybe 30 min of the entire day).
Though a bit muddy the first half of the trail was a lush canopy of green moss and at about 550 metres we hit snow.
None of us had snowshoes and they nly might have been helpful from 700m and above (but defenitely not needed). We went first to the East lookout, a must for any visit to this trail, where views towards Chilliwack and the surrounding mountains were visible as athe sun broke through. Then we went on to the tower for lunch, but they are no views to be had there.
Of important note were signs at Chadsey lake that would appear to indicate the East Trail is no longer usable due to blasting iin the area which made me very happy I did not do the cross-ver as I had originally planned.
What was listed as a 6.5hr trail could have ben done in more like 5.5 by seasoned hikers, but took us 8 due to a large speed range in hikers and the snow itself.
