Easy grade & nice workout.
Snowshoes right from the parking lot (Gate was unlocked and lot was plowed)
A nice even grade as you move up a well formed trail packed by snowshoes and skies.
Once past the viewpoint where most turn around, the trail breaking became a little more difficult but the snow is very supportive to a depth of 10 cm or so. I almost made the intersection with the Heather trail but ran out of time.
It was a nice warmup/conditioning trail for the more intense winter destinations later into the season.
Check the avalanche status Avalanche Canada before you head out and I recommend taking an Avalanche Skills Training Course (AST) if you plan on playing in the backcountry this winter. There are a number of ski and snowshoe specific programs available.
Be safe out there and have fun!
