This day we called up Josh and took him with us to Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park to enjoy a walk. We parked at the Watertower Gate trailhead and after looking at the trailhead map we agreed to loop around Rattlesnake Hill via the Comin’ Round the Mountain Trail (4.3 km), Cosens Bay Trail (3.5 km), and the Corral Trail (2.3 km), a total of just over ten kilometers. A few of the early April spring flowers were in bloom in the warm sunny Okanagan day we were having. It was great seeing all the new green growing everywhere. As I guessed the Arrowleaf Balsamroots were beginning to bloom as well. A lot of people with their dogs were out for a day of walking in the park. I wondered at one point if I saw more dogs than people. On the grassland in Cosens Valley I took some pictures of a colorful moth that landed right by Naomi’s feet. Down by the lakeshore there was calm in the beauty of this day. It was great to be out again in nature. We continued our journey around Rattlesnake Hill and on the Corral Trail I took a little time to take some photos of the picturesque old corrals with fresh mosses growing on them. We finally returned to the Watertower Gate feeling well exercised from this day’s hike.
