Trail is moderate in difficulty and there and back to the car with lunch on the top thrown in takes about five to six hours. Great exposure on the crux which doesn't qualify as any more than a scramble but would recommend taking a rope for those uncomfortable with exposure. Once the trail head is located, it fairly easy to follow it right to the Saddle as the trail runs along side a creek and is well flagged. From there you can see several peaks that one needs to traverse before reaching the top of Arrowsmith. The trail is evident beyond the saddle so you shouldn't have any trouble.
The trail has great views of Port Alberni and the east coast of the Island. On a really clear day you may get a glimpse of the Pacific ocean.
Recommend doing it in the latter part of July, August or September.
