Headed up the Roe main route to catch the trail up to Brew lake and Hut for a day hike. About 5 km one-way from TH to hut, about 6 km from where I parked my SUV. From my parking to hut the elev diff was about 2500'. I met four lads coming down the trail when i started, other than that I saw nobody anywhere. I was totally alone and It was bliss. Silent, soft breezes, some clouds rolling in and then the sun coming out. The lake was crystalline and quiet. Only a small bit of snow in the pond below the lake.
Trail in good shape, except for muddy spots in the meadow. Lots of boulder hopping antics over the scree slopes but all passable. It would be good if everyone added to the cairns on the trail in the meadow. When fog, clouds roll in the cairns and trail are hard to find. This leads to trashing of the sensitive meadow heathers and lupines.
