The parking lot was full by 7am on Sunday. We were there ~6:40am, already ~60 cars. Ate breakfast at the TH.
Parking along the road is now illegal. Some cars still parked outside of the parking area. Not sure if they got ticketed or not.
We hiked first to Colchuck Lake, then to Stuart Lake. Right now, still snow on the mountains around the lake, make everything prettier.
However, way too many people on the trail. Had to step aside to let people go ~30 times. So I like Stuart Lake better. Sure, Colchuck Lake has a very nice green color, and Stuart Lake lacks the color. But the trail to Colchuck is more boring (on top of being crowded). We met total ~30 people in out of Stuart. Countless in out of Colchuck.
