4 friends and I went up Baker via the Coleman/Deming route and could not have had better weather. On the way up we came across a skier who had been injured but was already receiving care from a guide from another party so we made our way to the upper camp and set up for the night we heard the helicopter pick up the skier around 8pm while finishing dinner and heading to bed, one thing one this trip I miss judged was how hard it is to fall asleep on a glacier while the sun is still up. After very little sleep we started our way up around 2am and made the summit just before 8:30 sharing it with up to 25 people at one point, not knowing how popular the route was I am glad we started early before it really got busy. The snow conditions were perfect with the early start as it warmed up fast and the the snow was melting quickly on the glacier. By the time we made it back to camp around 12:30 the glacier was full of tents and there was a stream of people going up or down. We camped one more night enjoying the views and the fact we finally got to the top of Baker the one mountain that is always higher than the one you are on in SWBC.
