Visit dated June 26-28, family of four (2 adults, 2 kids, 5 and 7 years): excellent condition, both on service road and trail to the lakes. No snow on the trail any longer, therefore muddy and bugs. Only couple of snow patches left, few fellow hikers that camped out, too, for some it´s only a day hike. The area for camping is vast. You can avoid or seek each other:)
Attention: If you go up there soon, pls. keep an eye out for a black case with prescription glasses (about $600 value) I forgot at our campground near to the lake with view onto Locomotive mountain.
