Tomyhoi Peak

01.10.2022
I actually climbed it both on Sat late afternoon (solo, needed some route finding), and Sunday early morning (as a guide to my team mates). I don't want to describe the route, because I saw so many people trying to climb with no helmet and probably not enough skills. Any of them can easily endanger others. There's a short but very narrow and exposed edge, which is one-way only. Not good for a lot of people. All I wanted to say is that it's beautiful, and autumn color in all its splendor. Gears I used: helmet, micro-spikes. Maybe you can do without the spikes. One short stretch of snow may be steep enough to call for spikes. I went in with no spikes Saturday ~5pm, wore them on the way out around 6:30pm, and the next morning. Photos: summit view 1. Camp and the smoke from Copper Lake fire. 2. Clear trail towards the base of the peak (top left is Tomyhoi Peak proper) 3. snow above the glacier 4. sunset on my way out Saturday 5. sunrise on our way up Sunday 6. narrow ridge 7. my friends on the way out, circled one climber on his way up.
