Where has all the snow gone? Well, it's still there in shady areas and on the north side of peaks. Worse it's compacted and icy so don't go out without microspikes or Yaktrax or even crampons. That didn't stop many people from struggling onwards, although the top layer was softening up by the afternoon.
Snow/ice began shortly before Brockton Point and was mostly continuous after that. On Second/Tim Jones Peak, there was a few centimetres of recent snow lying over the icy stuff. People were making it over to Third Peak but we didn't feel like trying :-)
What else to say about such a popular and well-travelled trail? It's easy to get parking, and for the most part the trail was peaceful despite the number of people out. Most of the dogs we encountered were not leashed, but also didn't bother us in any way. Lots of people in runners who were having real problems with the icy snow.
