A lovely day to hike this trail — overcast skies, mild temperatures, and sunny breaks throughout the day made for great conditions.
To reach Goat Mountain, follow the Alpine Trail, which features a mix of rolling terrain and some rocky sections. Signage is posted at key junctions to guide you. Eventually, you'll come to a fork:
Go right for Goat Mountain
Go left for Crown Mountain
From the junction to the summit, the trail becomes more challenging, with sections that require scrambling and the use of chains installed along the route. Take your time, watch your footing, and you should be fine.
At the summit, you're rewarded with stunning views of Crown Mountain and the surrounding area.
The trail was relatively dry, and there were no bugs to worry about.
