All backcountry camping requires permit from the ranger station. The closest is on Carbon River road, a detour.create

Spray Park Ipsut Pass Loop

We did a side trip to up to Echo Rock and Observation Rock. It is fabulous. But adds ~2000' gain ~5 miles RT.

Spray Park, Seattle Park are beautiful. But I didn't like the rest 2/3 of the loop much. Too much walking in low elevation without much of a view. Going from Carbon River bottom (~2400') to Ipsut Pass (~5100') is a boring pain. Luckily mostly in shade, and not many bugs.
I think going in and out all the way to Seattle Park from Mowich Lake would be better and easier. Quite crowded on weekends.
Current condition: abundant flowers, as well as bugs at Spray Park and Seattle Parks.
